Family function according to mothers employment status

Abstract
The purposes of this study were to investigate the level of family function and the factors influencing family function according to mothers employment status. Using the questionnaire, the sample of this study was collected from 119 mothers who have preschool children. The data were analyzed using t-test, Scheffe, multiple regression by the SPSS program.
The results of the study were as follows:
1) The level of family function was 3.51 with 1 to 5 range.
2) According to the demographic characteristics of mother, mothers who had higher educational level had higher family function score than the mothers who had less education and the mother who had a religion had higher family function score than the mothers who hadn¡¯t.
3) The level of family function was not significantly different between two groups, even though the group of mothers not employed was slightly higher mean score than that of mothers employed.
4) The most important variable influencing marriage life was whatever mothers want to do, they can do it with husband and the least important variable was having children.
According to above finding, we would like to recommend further research on family function by the types of person who are taking care of children and the level of mother-child attachment by the mothers employment status.
